These are a pair of fingerless mitts I made for a young boy - I altered a pattern I found on the net: http://www.knitlist.com/01gift/wristers.htm
I used size 4 needles - less than a skein of Lionbrand Woolease I had on hand and I added a thumb.
Thumb: - I placed the 13 stitches that were supposed to be bound off on a holder (yarn) and then when I came back to it at the end
I put them back on the needle
Picked up enough stitches so I had 20 stitches
Knit plain for 2 rows
decrease 4 stitches (16 sts)
Knit plain for one row
K2,P2 for 4 rows and BO in ribbing
They fit my 11 yr old son - so I would say 6-10 or so yrs old
Hard to find patterns for them
Enjoy

I love this blog and hope you continue it after the Fall KAL. Can I play later? Thanks for sharing the patterns. I'm behind knitting socks for gifts, so I think my little nieces might score some mitts instead. You can visit my blog at http://www.sockqueen.blogspot.com

Thanks for posting your pattern and adjustments. I have two boys who'd love these - it IS hard to find patterns for them! These are great!
