Kyla Mittens

This is something I started this morning, after completing all my chores you understand......ahem.....

the design is absolutely gorgeous!
I adore the way the yarn I am using has made different coloured bobbles! I did have to cast on 65 sts, not 57 as the pattern says, which gave me 10 bobbles and 45sts. I increased 11 sts after the bobble row which left me with 56 sts ready for the rib. I will keep you posted of my progress but I am loving them right now.

I had to knit something soft and dainty in between knitting Barry's luxury string, I mean, peace fleece cobblestone jumper...it's a bit rough on the fingers but it is growing fast and looks rustic and snuggly! Monika has some lovely patterns over on her blog...I might just have to make the socks on there next! Thank you for this stunning pattern Monika!

I love the colors. What yarn is it? and what size needles are you using? Was the CO of 65 sts a pattern mod. or is there an error in the pattern?

It is an error in the pattern...I am using some alpaca/silk sock yarn from http://www.thenaturaldyestudio.com/

it really is scrummy yarn!

also on rows 16-18 I think it should read p1 k5 *p3 k5 rep from * to last 2 sts p2 instead of just K. In the picture it looks like rib not stocking stitch....

I am truly loving knitting this pattern, it is quite a challenge too! ;^)

oh and I am using 2.25 kneedles but I knit loose so a normal knitter would probably knit using 2.5 as the pattern suggests ~ Marianne

I love how the WIP looks like a little crown on the ball of yarn!
