BUT I started one of the pairs for me hehe. They are the Orchid ones from Knitspot. It took three tries to get them the right size, because my hands are so petite. I started on 2's with sock yarn. Too big. Next I tried size 1.5's with zephyr wool- silk. Too big still, and the stitches weren't dense enough. Finally I dropped to size 1's and used a little bit thicker lace. Malabrigo Lace in Marine. Perfect! I am at the thumb gusset on the first one.

I agree -- both are lovely! I'll be interested to see how lengthening the thumb on your Whitewater Mitts works out. I just finished my first one and am not digging the tiny thumb so much either.
